Master of Science and Areas of Specialization
The Master of Science (MS) program offered by the department of biological sciences provides an advanced education with either a research thesis or nonthesis option. A variety of specializations in the broad areas of ecology, evolutionary biology, molecular biology, microbiology and cell biology are available. All incoming students are assigned to a temporary graduate advisor; typically by the end of the first semester, students choose a permanent graduate advisor and committee. The advisors work with the student to develop a plan of study that meets the student’s educational goals.
