Program Requirements
An undergraduate certificate in healthcare systems (UGC-HSYS) provides foundational knowledge in leadership, informatics, finance, quality and economics. Students develop practical skills in community engagement and learn to improve quality, efficiency and outcomes within healthcare systems.
The UGC-HSYS comprises 16-18 total credit hours. Students who complete this certificate will have earned 15 of the required 60 program credit hours toward a Bachelor of Science in health management. This is equivalent to one full-time semester of coursework. The certificate may also be pursued concurrently with degree programs such as business management, general business, pre-medicine, social work and clinical disciplines in the College of Health Professions.
An overall grade point average of at least 2.000 for all courses comprising the certificate program, and no grade below C, is required to earn the certificate.
