BM in Performance - Vocal Emphasis

Program Requirements

A minimum total of 120 credit hours is required for the BM in performance - vocal emphasis. In addition to meeting the requirements of the WSU General Education Program and the requirements of the College of Fine Arts, students must meet the following requirements:

Required major courses may also count towards General Education requirements. Students will need to select additional electives to reach 120 credit hours required for graduation with assistance from an advisor.

Piano Proficiency

Students who have not satisfied all piano proficiency requirements must enroll in class piano until they meet those requirements. All music majors must pass the piano proficiency examination before graduation and BME students must have it completed before the student teaching semester.

Applied Learning 

Students in the BM in performance - vocal emphasis program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by completing a recital ( MUSP 400) in their senior year.
