Applying for Degree
An Application for Degree form (AFD) and filing fee must be filed online through the myWSU portal within four weeks (20 class days) after the beginning of any fall or spring semester in which a student plans to finish all requirements for the degree.
Students planning to graduate at the end of the summer session must file the online application for degree form and fee within two weeks (10 class days) after the beginning of the regular eight-week session even if they plan to enroll for the second four-week session only.
If, after a student files an AFD, the degree is not completed, a new AFD and filing fee must be filed within the timeframe just described for the semester in which requirements for the degree are again expected to be completed. Students must have an approved Plan of Study on file with the Graduate School in order to file the AFD.
Failure to meet these deadlines will result in a delay in graduation and in the awarding of the diploma and final transcripts.
