MEd in Sport Management
Admission
Admission to the master’s degree program in sport management is considered for students who have completed an earned undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a grade point average of 2.750 (4.000 system), in their last 60 credit hours. Candidate evaluations are based on one of two options:
- GPA of at least 2.750 (4.000 system) in their last 60 credit hours and faculty evaluation based on letter of application, resume and three reference reports; or
- GPA of at least 2.750 (4.000 system) in their last 60 credit hours, cumulative score for the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Exam, and faculty evaluation based on letter of application, resume and three reference reports.
The program limits admissions to 30 students per year with a minimum score of 70 (out of 100 possible) based on the above admission criteria options. For more information, please contact the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Mike Ross at mike.ross@wichita.edu.
Program Requirements
The MEd program in sport management program requires 30 credit hours — 24 credit hours of required coursework and a 6-credit hour internship. In addition, the program requires that all students pass a final comprehensive examination covering all required coursework during their final semester prior to graduation.

Applied Learning
Students in the sport management (MEd) program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by completing SMGT 847.
