Program Requirements
A minimum total of 120 credit hours is required for the BM in jazz and contemporary media. In addition to meeting the requirements of the WSU General Education Program and the requirements of the College of Fine Arts, students must meet the following requirements:

Note: All music majors must pass a piano proficiency examination.
Applied Learning
Students in the Bachelor of Music in jazz and contemporary media program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by performing in eight semesters of applied lessons, MUSA 252_ and MUSA 453_; eight semesters of ensembles/combos, MUSP 411M Jazz Combo, MUSP 212T Jazz Arts Ensemble 2, MUSP 411T Jazz Arts Ensemble 1 and MUSP 412T Jazz Arts Ensemble 2; and successfully completing MUSP 400 Senior Recital.
